Blain Owens

Owner and Funeral Director

Blain Owens is the owner of Owens Memorial Chapel. He is married to Sherry Wilkinson Owens and has three children: Ashley, Callen, and Brenden. Blain is also the owner of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA, Owens Monument Company of Ruston, and Forest Lawn Cemetery. He has devoted his life to serving the families of this area, providing meaningful services. With over 30 years of experience, his close attention to detail and organization have allowed him to conduct services at the highest level.

Blain has served as president of the Louisiana Cemeteries Association and the Ruston Lions Club. He is also president of Po Boy Hunting Club in Marion and served for 40 years as the secretary of Big 3 Hunting Club in Simsboro. Blain enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Callen Owens

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Callen is the son of Blain and Sherry Owens. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and in 2011 with a degree in mortuary science from the University of Arkansas Community College. Callen is a licensed embalmer and funeral director at Owens Memorial Chapel.  He currently helps families with designing meaningful monuments and preneed arrangements. Callen has managed the Forest Lawn Cemetery for many years and is currently a business manager. He and his wife, Jamie, have one son, Levi Gentry Owens.

Brendan Owens

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Brendan is the son of Blain and Sherry Owens. He graduated in 2019 with a degree in mortuary science from University of Arkansas Community College. Brendan is a licensed embalmer and funeral director and currently is in charge of Field Operations and manages Forest Lawn Cemetery.  He is the proud father of one daughter, Harper Belle Owens.

Aleck Nyegaard

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Aleck Nyegaard is a native of Union Parish. He is married to Dee Nyegaard, and they have two children. Aleck has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 2018. He currently works at Owens Memorial Chapel and is available to meet with families at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. He is experienced in preneed funeral insurance and designing monuments.

Aleck is well known throughout Union and Lincoln parishes. He currently pastors Dean Baptist Church in the Dean community near Marion, La. Aleck enjoys spending time in the woods hunting, at his camp on the Ouachita River, or travelling with his wife, Dee. He is a proud grandfather and cherishes the time spent with family.

Chris Worth

Funeral Assistant

Chris Worth is a native of Union Parish. He serves the funeral home with first calls, office staffing, and assisting with funeral services. He may very well be the first staff member you see when a death occurs. He has been praised for his gentle professionalism and his compassion for families. He is available to help families with preneed insurance and designing monuments.
