Funeral services for retired U.S. Naval Chief Petty Officer William "Bill" Gale Dollar, 75, of Union Parish will be held 10:00am, Friday, May 25, 2018 at Farmerville First Baptist Church with Bro. Kurt Auger officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery, near Linville, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mr. Dollar died as a result of complications following a severe accident on September 21, 2017.

Mr. Dollar went to his heavenly home on May 20, 2018. He was a member of Conway Church of Christ. He has been a resident of Union Parish since 1951. Mr. Dollar retired from the United States Navy, having been stationed in various locations, with San Diego being his home base. He was involved in his church and his community, being known as a true family man. He truly loved his family and was the Dad he didn't have to be, to everyone.

Mr. Dollar was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Dollar & Doris Johnson Dollar; his first wife, Margaret Weight Dollar; brother, Tommy Dollar; step-daughter, Cindy Griffin Beaird; step-son, Lou Allen Griffin; and dear friend, Kenny Griffin.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Dollar; son, Michael Eugene Dollar; daughter, Deborah Dollar; two step-sons, Jesse M. Griffin, II and Jason M. Griffin; step-daughter, Lori-Ann Griffin Mitchell; two brothers, Johnny E. Dollar and Herbert D. Dollar; two sisters, Margaret Dianne Dollar and Janice Dollar Trichell; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
