A private family service is being planned for W.C. Russell, 88, of Bernice, La.

Mr. W. C. Russell passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. He retired from BellSouth Telephone Company with 34 years of service. His military service included 2 years in the Army. After retirement, he enjoyed helping his son at his glass company. W. C. was an avid woodworker, crafting items for family and friends. Recently, Mr. Russell was honored for his faithful service to his church where he served as a deacon and a "go-to-helper".

Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years; Nellie Tousineau Russell, his parents; Dee Gill and Donie McKinnie Russell, one sister; Ruth Ann Russell, two brothers; Burton Russell and Clete Russell, and one nephew; Wayne Russell.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters; Janice Russell Golden (J.R.) and Janette Russell Colvin (Mike), one son; Bill Russell, three grandchildren; Laura Colvin Caraway (Harper), Russell Colvin (Sarah) and Spencer Golden, four great-grandchildren; Nellie Colvin, Grayson Caraway, John Harper Caraway and Knowles Colvin along with a host of other family and friends.
