Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivanae Parnell Daniels, age 91 of Farmerville, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Farmerville with Bro. Kurt Auger and David Farrar officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Vivanae was born in El Dorado, Arkansas and graduated from El Dorado High School. She worked as a telephone operator in El Dorado. In 1954, Vivanae married the love of her life and had two sons. Later she attended Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Vivanae then earned her Masters of Arts, plus 30, and Reading Specialist Degree from Louisiana Tech University. She was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa. Her first teaching job was at Drew Elementary. She also taught at Junction City Elementary and Farmerville Elementary. She served as a reading coordinator for Union Parish Schools and principal of Farmerville Elementary. Upon retiring, she became a consultant for "Creative Memories", and later opened her own business, "Viva's Picture Framing and Décor". When the need arose, Vivanae accepted a teaching position at Spearsville Elementary. She returned to Farmerville Elementary and taught until the young age of 80, however she continued tutoring individual students in her home. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, always looking for fun things to do with them.

Vivanae was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Lajoy Daniels, Sr.; parents: Clifton Lavoy and Una Ford Parnell; two brothers: C.L. Parnell (Velma) and Carlton Parnell (Joy); brother-in-law: Dusty Daniels (Daisy); and sister-in-law: Stephanie Daniels.

She is survived by her two sons: Richard Daniels, Jr. (Cindy) and David Kent Daniels (Lori); grandchildren: David Adam Daniels (Lisa), Richard Daniels (Katie), Alisa Hunnicutt (Todd), Lorin Turner (David); great grandchildren: Gavin Turner, Randall Hunnicutt, Lucas Daniels, Lillian Daniels, and Amelia Turner; numerous nieces and nephews; sister: Nancy Ludwig; brother-in-law: Noel Daniels; and special nephew, Darien Gardner.

Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Daniels, Richard Daniels, Todd Hunnicutt, David Turner, Darien Gardner, Jake Gardner, Nick Gardner, Ross Gardner, and Gavin Turner.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church at 899 Cypress Creek Road or the charity of your choice.
