Graveside services for Virginia McDougald Allen, 94, of Marion will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Roark Allen Cemetery with Bro. Bubba Hoggatt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mrs. Allen went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 5, 2020, in Farmerville, LA. Mrs. Allen was affectionately known as "Mama Ginny" and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a school teacher in the Union Parish School System for over 44 years and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church, Marion for many years. Mrs. Virginia was a graduate of Farmerville High School and Louisiana Tech University.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bruce Allen; son, Alvin Bruce Allen; parents, B.E. & Ressie McDougald; and sister, Orea Bennett.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Larry Don & Mary Allen and Jerry Mac & Cathy Allen; daughter-in-law, Jane Allen; seven grandchildren, Crystal Hitt (Joey), Cody Allen (Whitney), Joani Hodnett (Charles), Emily Raney (Jace), Mitzi Albritton (Jamie), Greg Allen (Alexis) and Ginger Coffee (Brian); sixteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; niece, Kathie McCarty; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be Cody Allen, Greg Allen, Brian Coffee, Charles Hodnett, Jace Raney, Jamie Albritton and Joey Hitt.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at First Baptist Church, Marion.
The family would like to thank the staff of Arbor Rose for going above and beyond with their love and care given to Mrs. Virginia and our family. Also, special thanks to Mrs. Nell Oliver and the many friends at Arbor Rose.
