Obituary

A funeral service for Mr. Truman Wayne Miller, 84, of Marion, La., will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La. with Bro. Will Englerth and Bro. Glenn Nale officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery in Marion, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La.

Truman Wayne Miller was born March 12, 1938 and passed away May 10, 2022. Mr. Wayne retired from Montgomery Ward Service Department in Monroe, La. after having worked there for more than twenty years. After his retirement, Wayne started his own business, Miller Air Conditioning, Heating, and Electrical of Marion, La. Mr. Wayne, his sons, his grandsons, and his great-grandsons served Union Parish and surrounding areas. On Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 7:30 a.m., Mr. Wayne officially retired.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family and he was a friend to all he met. He was kind, considerate, and very fair to his customers and he had a big heart for people. Wayne was a U.S. Navy veteran and he served his country proudly. For a short time, he also served in the Marion Police Department serving as Police Chief. When Mr. Wayne had the free time, his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and spending time camping with his family. Wayne was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter, Waynette Miller; and parents, Truman R. Miller and Ethel Larkey Miller.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Henrietta Baker Miller; children, Melba M. Phelps (Richard), Gary "Bo" Miller (Shelly), and Greg Miller (Debbie); grandchildren, Misty P. Smith (Jheramy), Wesley Phelps (Rossi), Ben Phelps, Chris Thomas, Nick Pace, Gary Wayne Miller (Kassie), Brittany M. Murphy (Colton), Chelsey Miller (Josh), and Kelsey M. Poole (Justin); great-grandchildren, Adelynn Miller, Thorne Stripling, Alexandria Murphy, Maddie Turner, Dawson Poole, Weston Poole, Alexis Phelps, Allison Smith, Bradley Phelps, Brody Andrews, Skyla Pace, Matthew Thomas, and Brodey Thomas; special sister, Virginia Baker; special brother, Billy "LuLu" Baker; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Phelps, Ben Phelps, Chris Thomas, Nick Pace, Gary Miller, and Matthew Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Phelps, Brody Andrews, and Thorne Stripling.
