Funeral services for Truman Gray Hicks, age 81 of Marion, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025 at Wards Chapel Church of Christ with Bro. Terry Cole officiating and Skeeter Hicks reading of obituary. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Truman always put God and his family first. He was married to Delores for 62 years and together they built a wonderful life and family. Truman was an avid fox and deer hunter. He loved to run walker dogs, sit by a fire and listen to the hounds run, and ride horses. Truman loved to watch baseball, football, and basketball. He coached his boys in all sports they wanted to play that needed a coach. He was an avid LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan, reading Dandy Don every morning and his favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Truman worked at Georgia Pacific Maintenance for 42 years. He led singing at Church of Christ on Pine Steet in Crossett for many years before moving to Truxno to lead at Wards Chapel Church of Christ. He would also preach whenever asked. Truman loved music and loved sitting with friends and family picking the guitar and singing. He rarely ever sat still. Always having a project going, building anything he could imagine.  Truman kept a garden every year, sharing his pea hulls and corn shucks with the horses he field trialed and hunted off of.

Truman was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Gray and Christine Scarborough Hicks; paternal grandparents, Otis Gray and Emma Rebecca Dean Hicks; maternal grandparents, Lonnie Tretzvant and Madeline Phillips Scarborough; and his brother-in-law, Raymond Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Callie Delores Byrnside Hicks; three sons, Sonny Hicks (Gina), Ken Hicks (Debbie), and Bryant Hicks (Kesha); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeannette Jordan and Connie Yarema (Allan).

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Hicks, Jackson Hicks, Jay Hollis, Lance Yarema, Tommy Byrnside, and Christopher Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be Leona Smith, Cortney Carpenter, Nicki Johnston, and Christine Hicks.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.
