Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Marie Hamilton White, age 66 of Downsville, LA, will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Downsville Methodist Church with Bro. Hank Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Downsville City Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Susan was a 1977 graduate of Downsville High School and a 1981 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Library Science. She began her teaching career at Spearsville, LA as a History teacher and Librarian. From there she taught at Downsville High School as a Social Studies and History teacher and as a Librarian. Susan loved to read and loved traveling. She traveled though every state except Hawaii and Rhode Island. She and Mr. Michael often traveled for extended periods of time, one trip being 6 weeks where they traveled through Canada to Alaska. Susan was a member of Downsville Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Susan was preceded in death by her father: Jack Hamilton; and her beloved sister: Sherry Boyd.

She is survived by her mother: Ann Hamilton; her husband of 44 years: Mike White; daughter: Stacie White (Josh); sons: Patrick White (Taylor) and Dan Boyd (Lauren); four grandchildren: Ellis White, Reagan White, Pierce Boyd, and Tatum Boyd; her best friends: Donna Brown and Kay Brian; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Allbritton, A.P. Smith, Spencer White, Gary White, Paul Martin, and Clint Graham.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Downsville Methodist Church.
