A memorial service for Sue Gaspard, age 79 of Downsville, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating.

Sue was born November 9, 1944 to Junior and Etta Mae Reeves, their only daughter and oldest child, she was sister to four younger brothers that she loved dearly, Jim Reeves, Lee Roy (Ducky) Reeves, Bob Reeves and Roger (Rocky) Reeves. Sue was married to Joe Gaspard for 55 years, filled with love and adventure. She raised and loved her three children and instilled a deep love of family in them.

Sue was devoted to her family, she was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and rejoiced in their lives and families. She was loved by everyone who met her, within moments she was everyone's best friend and made anyone she met feel at home. She loved to cook and always welcomed family and friends to her table, she was famous for her potato salad, and it was an often-requested item.  To be at home, in her kitchen cooking for the ones she loved was some of her happiest times. Sue was a lover of animals and enjoyed feeding birds, squirrels and any creature that wandered into her world.

Join us as we say goodbye to Sue, the memories of her sweetness and gentle ways will live  on in our hearts. We love you, Mom.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joe Gaspard; parents, Junior and Etta Mae Markham Reeves; daughter Bobbie Dale Miller; granddaughter, Katilyn Ison; and her brother, Bob Reeves.

She is survived by her son, Joey Gaspard; daughter, Susie Gaspard; grandchildren, Nikki Hoffman (Len), Cole Gaspard, Josh Gaspard, Becky Miller, Linda Boyd (Robert), and April Mahn (Daniel); her great grandchildren; three brothers, Roger, Lee, and Jim Reeves; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM, prior to the service, June 14, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home.
