A funeral service for Mr. Sidney Lee Slater, age 62 of Marion, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Smith officiating.

Sam was a graduate of Linville High School and upon graduation he started working for several people in his community. He worked with Towns Masonry as a bricklayer as they contracted the Pecan Land Mall and many other jobs throughout the years. You could find Sam at Mr. Lee Brantley's business and helping others in his community. Sam loved to work his garden and provided many with fresh and canned produce. He was an avid deer hunter and loved the outdoors. Sams greatest accomplishment was being a caregiver for his sister Marsha Collins and will be missed as well as Chicken Dumplings his mother taught him how to cook.

Sidney was preceded in death by his loving parents, Donald and Delsie Slater, his brothers Donald Slater Jr., Thomas Reppond, sisters Sandy Buddin, Sybil Taylor and Wanda Reppond.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Marsha Collins, Liz Reppond, Sue Phillips, Carolyn Crane (Bill), and Amy Chisholm; Aunts Ida Belle Albritton and a host of many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be David McLemore, Dale Collins, Milas Jo Davidson, Brandon Towns, Jason Murray, David Nowlin and honorary pallbearers will be the late Vernon Ray, Richard Pilgreen and Richard Towns.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, prior to the service, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
