Farmerville, LA
A memorial service for Sidney Ray (the "Fish Man"), 74, of Marion will be held at 2:00pm Friday, June 1, 2018, at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Don Reeves officiating and under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Ray went to his heavenly home May 26, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and member of Dean Baptist Church. He was a retired mechanic and he "lived" to fish. He was a loving and caring husband, father, like no other, and Pap Paw, that will never be forgotten. Sidney also loved his dog, Max, known as his shadow. Sidney was known to most people as the "Fish Man". He enjoyed pulling in the nets just to see if he had something "picture worthy".
Preceding him in death are his parents, Louie "Shine" and Oceal McKinnie Ray.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Bessie Thomas Ray of Marion; daughter, Angela Pilgreen & husband Travis of Linville; 3 brothers: Vernon Ray & wife, Betty of Dean, Jeff Ray & wife, Barbie of Farmerville and Chris Ray & wife, Shellie of Collingston, LA; 3 sisters: Marguirete Nowlin of Spencer, Sue Sutton & husband, John of West Monroe, and Sharon McGraw & husband, Charles of Linville; and 3 grandchildren: Stephanie Corbin & husband, Blake of West Monroe, Rae Ann Pilgreen of Truxno, and Jeffrey Pilgreen of Linville.
