Funeral services for Shirley Cates Taylor, 77, of Farmerville will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Farmerville First Assembly of God with Rev. Hank Hamilton and Bro. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Farmerville City Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Taylor went to her heavenly home on January 25, 2020. Shirley began working at the Bernice Garment Factory early in her life and later served as a Paraprofessional at Farmerville Junior High School for a number of years. She was a wonderful, caring and loving mother and grandmother to Noah William who was the "apple of her eye."

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, John "Jack" Jefferson & Bessie Cates; siblings, Gordon Cates, Alfred Cates, Magdalene Morgan, Betty Jean Snyder, Christine Snead and Linda Peppers; and nephew, Dennis Martindale.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Taylor; one son, Kelly Taylor; one grandson, Noah William Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mayor Stein Baughman, Trey Fulton, David Hayes, Zeb Ginn, Roger Crow and John Crow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gillum, Curtis Moses, Ricky Johnikin and Bryan Aston.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m. at Farmerville First Assembly of God.
