A graveside service for Shelby Sue Murphy, 64, of Oil City, La., will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach, La.

Shelby Sue Murphy was born April 21, 1957 and passed away February 15, 2022. Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family meant the world to her and she loved them with all of her heart. Sue lived in Bernice, La. most of her life until moving to Oil City, La. in the 90's. There, she lived on the lake and was a faithful member of Oil City Baptist Church. She loved her lake family, her church family, and her pastor very much, always helping out any way she could. Sue was a special, one of a kind person, and to know her was to love her. Sue was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, J.R. Murphy; mother, Mary Rebecca Otwell; father, Shelby Johnston; grandson, Tyler Downs; sisters, Cathy Reynolds and Dianne Strozier; and brothers, Eddie Johnston and Charles Johnston.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jimmy Murphy (Chasity) and Kristi Murphy Lisenby (David); grandchildren, Kynlie Murphy, Fisher Murphy, Summer McCurry, Landon Lisenby, and Brenna McCurry; great-grandchild, Brantley Reed; brothers, Greg Johnston, Michael Johnston, and Shelby Johnston, Jr. (Tamara); sisters, Angela Johnston, Nina Martin, Wanda Beckham (Terry), Linda Frazier (Steve), Ginger Otwell, and Lynn Garcia; along with numerous family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Earon Bradley, Sidney Bradley, Parker Smith, Carlos Lozano, Ethon Bradley, and Colt Clover.
