A memorial service for Schley Jack Jones, Jr. will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Dallas Witt officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, prior to the service at Farrar Funeral Home.

Schley Jack Jones Jr. was born on March 21st, 1950 to Schley Jack Jones Sr and Ruth Hamby Jones. Monday, February 9th, 2026 at the age of 76, he took his last breath here on earth and his next breath in Heaven. On July 30, 1969 – Jack married to the love of his life, Linda Odom Jones. This year would have been their 57th wedding anniversary. He was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, spending his childhood with his brothers working on their daddy's farm. This is where his hard work ethic began and was installed into him. He moved to Union Parish in 1967, where he resided for the rest of his days.

Jack was a very loyal, hard working man. He began working in 1973 at Mid-Louisiana Gas, retiring as a head foreman. He spent many hours outside building, tinkering with something, welding, and "piddling" as he would say. He lived up to his name "Jack" because he truly was a jack of all trades. There wasn't much he couldn't do. There was nothing he couldn't accomplish once he set his mind to it. When he wasn't working, he was in the woods hunting or somewhere fishing with his best friend, Stan Smith.

He also loved sports, and played football in his high school years. He and his brothers played softball on the same team in Nip n' Tuck for many years. Those Jones boys were a force to be reckoned with. Jack loved his brothers and they all remained very close throughout his life.

Watching Nascar, Butterfinger blasts from Sonic, and spending time with his great grandchildren were some of his other favorite things in life.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Schley Jack Jones Sr and Ruth Hamby Jones, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Heard Odom.

Those left to cherish his memories are, his wife Linda Odom Jones. His three daughters, Jacquelyn Jones Bean (Paul), Mary Jones Dukes (Jan), Sarah Jones (Paul). Eight grandchildren, Taylor Estes, Katherine Hayes Black (Dakota), Morgan Bean, Audrey Dukes, J Kaedan Bean, Sydney Dukes, William Dukes, and Cameron Dayton. Four great grandchildren, Liam Black, Elliot Black, Charlie Ruth Black, and Isla Black. Brothers, Charles Jones (Jan), Billy Jones, Wayne Jones (Elaine), and Roy Jones. Sister-in-law, Sherri Odom Shreve (Toby) and brother-in-law, William Stacy Odom (Shelley). Jack also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him and looked up to him.

Jack was a great mentor. He taught us all the basics in life. From how to drive to changing a flat tire, how to build or repair stuff, and you could call on him anytime, whether day or night, and he would be there for you. Most importantly, he taught us integrity, character, hard work, and love.

We would like to thank Passages Hospice Care, Farmerville Nursing Home, and Dr. Venters for taking care of him. Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit him. You are all greatly appreciated and your kindness does not go unnoticed.

We will all miss Jack deeply. His legacy will carry on and on in future generations.
