Samuel Benjamin Read, lovingly known as Benjamin, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 53.

Benjamin was born on September 22, 1972, to Judy Williams Read and Cecil Stanley Read, Jr. Throughout his life, Benjamin touched countless hearts with his infectious laughter, playful sense of humor, and genuine love for people. Though he faced many challenges, he lived a life rich in joy, friendship, and unforgettable moments.

Benjamin was known for the sayings that brought smiles to everyone around him. Whether he was asking for "chips and a Coke," saying, "Love you Dad, give me $10," or proudly announcing, "Mr. Read is on his way," he had a special way of making people laugh. His quick wit, warm spirit, and familiar phrases will be cherished forever by those who knew and loved him.

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Judy Williams Read and Cecil Stanley Read, Jr.; his sister, Leslie Read Jones and husband Donald Jones; his brother, Andrew Read; his nieces, Skylar Ingle and husband Kody Ingle, Kaia Edgar and husband Peyton Edgar, and Vera Read; his great-nephews, Mason Ingle and Jude Edgar.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ola and Skip Williams, and Nell and Cecil Read, Sr.

The family would also like to recognize the extraordinary staff of Coax Community Residence, who became Benjamin's second family. Their compassion, patience, and dedication enriched his life and brought him comfort, companionship, and love throughout the years.

Benjamin's life reminds us that happiness is often found in the simplest things; a favorite snack, a familiar joke, a shared laugh, and the love of family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of joy that will continue to brighten the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A grave side service will be held at 3:15 PM, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery with Honorable Judge Jay McCallum officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, prior to the graveside service, at the Farmerville Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Lance Futch, Alan Futch, Cody Simpson, David Hopkins, Peyton Edgar and Kody Ingel.

Though Benjamin's voice is now silent, his laughter, his sayings, and the memories he created will remain forever in our hearts.
