Royce Edward Lockwood, 63, of Spearsville, Louisiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 12, 2021 after a brief illness that he valiantly fought.

Royce was born in Delhi, Louisiana on September 18, 1957 to Guy Lockwood and Nelda Graham Lockwood.  Royce was a graduate of Farmerville High School, class of 1975.  Soon after graduation, Royce joined the Army and served 4 years in COMSEC with a tour of duty in Germany.  After serving our country, Royce started and operated several businesses over the years until he returned to Union Parish to be close to his family and focus on his hobbies.  He could tell you just about anything about a collector car, especially the Ford Mustang.  He and daughter, Carrie, shared the joy of purchasing a pair of new Mustangs together!  Royce was a devoted father and a man of his word who will be deeply missed.

Royce is preceded in death by his father, Guy Lockwood; brother, Mathew Lockwood; and sister, Charla Stokes.

Royce is survived by his daughter, Carrie Lynn Lockwood of Shreveport, Louisiana; mother and step-father, Nelda & Roy Williams of Spearsville, Louisiana; brother, Ray Lockwood & wife, Jill of Newnan, Georgia; sisters, Lynn Jones & husband, Mark of Wilton Manors, Florida, Carla Chrisman & husband, Sam of Dubach, Louisiana, Tonya Hyatt & husband, Kris of Spearsville, Louisiana, and Robyn Taylor & significant other, Steve Zuber of Downsville, Louisiana; and a bevy of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, Louisiana on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m.  Veteran Funeral Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church on Liberty Church Road in Spearsville, Louisiana on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service at the church to follow immediately after.  In lieu of flowers, contribution to help with funeral expenses can be made at www.gofundme.com , searching for "Royce Lockwood Funeral".
