Mr. Nolan passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. With very heavy hearts, the Antioch Community lost another of its own, Mr. Roy Nolan, affectionately known as Uncle Roy. Uncle Roy meant very much to a lot of people. If you didn't know Uncle Roy, you missed out! What a wonderful, decent man he was! He was a wealth of knowledge and will be missed by many.
He was the greatest father and grandfather you could ask for. He never missed anything his grandchildren did. There was nothing that kept him from his grandchildren, whether they were playing ball, riding horses, doing pageants or just riding around with him listening to his many stories. He cherished his grandchildren and they meant the world to him.
He was a regular customer at the Antioch Store and enjoyed hanging out there throughout the day. Every day when he was ready to go home, he always thanked Mr. Mark for letting him "hang around", as he called it. We're thankful that he was able to go home. We thank our Lord that he will no longer hurt or suffer any more. We know he will walk slowly and wait for Mrs. Rita, so please pray for peace in the coming days for those he left behind. We love and miss you already Uncle Roy.
Mr. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Zeola Dean Nolan, sister Doris Robinson, and brother Grady Nolan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years; Rita Sullivan Nolan, one son; Arliss Nolan (Ashley), 4 grandchildren; Cody Nolan, Alexandra Sides, Taylor Nolan, Hunter Nolan, 3 great-grandchildren; Madelyn Nolan, Addison Nolan, Peyton Sides, two brothers; Freddy Nolan, Carl Nolan, one sister; Margueritte Newsom, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, LA.
