Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Anderson, 77, of Farmerville will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Farmerville First United Methodist Church with Bro. Hank Hamilton and Bro. Rubin Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Anderson went to his heavenly home on September 9, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a member of Farmerville First United Methodist Church. Bob had a great appreciation for the outdoors and really enjoyed being a talented fisherman and hunter. He especially liked woodworking and spent countless hours in his shop. He was a great husband, father and PaPa.
He served his country in the United States Navy for 5 years as an Engineman 1st Class. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor and also spent time on board submarine USS Sabolo.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Lois Reeves Anderson; father and mother-in-law, Jim & Madoline McMaster Grier; grandparents, Levy & Mae Anderson; and sister-in-law, Linda Grier Barron.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 ½ years, Peggy Jane Grier Anderson of Farmerville; two sons, Carey B. Anderson & wife, Holly of Farmerville and Patrick Grier Anderson & wife, Melody of Bernice; sister, Brenda Anderson Albritton & husband, Danny of Farmerville; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Grier, & wife, Joyce, Bobby Grier & wife, Toni, and Dwain Barron; five grandchildren, Reece, Rhett, Ragan, Riley and Micah; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Fisher, Joe Harper, Marcus Grier, Scotty Booth, Dean Smith and Stein Baughman, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin McAdams, Fred Young, Gary Ezell, Jon Yelton and Bobby Knickerbocker.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Farmerville First United Methodist Church.
Any planned memorials can be sent to Farmerville United Methodist Church, Trail Life Troop 16 or Antioch Baptist Church Junior Youth/Youth Group.
