Funeral services for Mr. Rickey Fernon Craighead, age 68 from Farmerville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, March 29, 2024 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Downsville, LA with Bro. Harlan Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. Rickey was a native of Farmerville, LA, and during his lifetime was a truck driver and a diesel mechanic.
It can be said that through the days of his business ownership of Craighead Welding & Diesel he was a "jack of all trades" and was known to build many things from knives to any type of tool he needed for any project he faced. Mr. Rickey was an avid and accomplished race car driver and builder. In his later years he owned and operated Ricky Craighead Pilot/Escort services for BDF Enterprises in the wind energy industry and enjoyed his travels around and seeing the country.

Mr. Rickey was very giving, humble and loving. He was a friend, father, true American Patriot, and was a proud grandfather to all his grand and great grandchildren.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Bo Craighead and Evelyn Dean; sister, Debbie Palmer and her husband Bob Palmer; and two great nephews, Nathaniel Simpson and Landon Cardin

He is survived by his daughter, Nikki Godsby (Tracy); son, Richard "Cornbread" Craighead (Patricia "Peaches"); grandchildren, Rozlyn Glasgow, Trista Grant, Branden Godsby, Ashlee Godsby, Britnee Godsby, Dakota Craighead, Lynzee Ellis (Elijah), Caleb Traylor, Anthony Deitch, and Ryan Deitch; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Jr.; soon to be great grandchild, Ezekiel; sister, Linda Cardin.

Pallbearers will be Gary Warlick, Terry Warlick, Jesse Warlick,  Richard Wigington, Terry Patterson, Stan Pickett, Matt Davis, and John Bolen. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Blackmon, Terry "Shaggy Dog" Smith, and Demetrius Tubbs.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM, prior to the service, March 29, 2024 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.

Ricky was simple so casual wear is fine.

Nikki and Richard would like to express their gratitude to Shannon and Adam Skains for their invaluable dedication and support to Ricky and family over the last year and half in their time of need.
