Richard Earl Bearden, age 61, of Downsville, La. passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018. Earl was born in Farmerville, La. on October 20, 1956. Earl retired from his small engine shop in 2012. Earl spent his lifetime in service to his business and his customers. He was a devoted family man to his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone that crossed his path. Earl was an avid pool player and belonged to both ACS and APA. His pool buddies were like family to him. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing on Lake D'Arbonne. After he retired, you could find him on his lawn mower mowing grass, which he said that was relaxation for him.
Earl is preceded in death by his father, Ellis Len Bearden; paternal grandparents, Andrew & Lonie Boggs Bearden; and maternal grandparents, Otis & Velma Shaffer Blackwell.
Earl is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jan Bearden. He is also survived by his four children, daughter, Mandy Bearden Oliver & husband, James Oliver of Downsville, La., son, Nick Bearden & his girlfriend, Randa Black of Downsville, La., son, Jon Bearden of Spearsville, La., and daughter, Michelle Bearden Campbell & husband, Anthony Campbell of Downsville, La.; nine grandchildren, Katelynn Oliver, Kane Oliver, Kaleb Oliver, Tailen Bearden, Laila Bearden, Davynee Bearden, Brailen Campbell, Brooklyn Hicks and Haven Campbell; mother, Mary Ann Blackwell Bearden; two brothers, Michael Bearden & wife, Janice, Stacy Bearden & wife, Crystal; four sisters, Joyce Phillips & husband, James, Patricia Holley & husband, Mike, Becky Bartmess & husband, Biggs and Marilyn Bryan & husband, Russell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank those who have shown such care and concern to Earl and our family during the past year while Earl battled cancer.
Visitation will be Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with funeral services on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rugg's Bluff cemetery in Downsville, La.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Graham, Randy Wall, Donnie Young, Brad Brian, Jessie Middleton and Denise Ramey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brent White, B.J. Alvis, Jamie Miller and Sam Smith
