Funeral services for Rayven "Lil Ray" Wilson, 14, of Rocky Branch will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Bro. David McGuffee officiating. A private burial will be held following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Rayven went to his heavenly home on June 8, 2017. He was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and a student at D'Arbonne Woods Charter School. Rayven was an avid runner for the D.W.C.S. Cross Country and Track Team. He was active in the Monsters of the South ATV Riding Club, a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church Youth Group and a true cowboy at heart. Rayven was his mother's sunshine, her "Lil Ray", his dad's best friend and the best mechanic, his brother's best friend and his sister's baby brother and the light of her world.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carl Edward Wilson, Sr.; and great grandmother, Peggy Tousineau.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Carl "CJ" & Lori McGuffee Wilson of Rocky Branch; one brother, Robbie Wilson of Rocky Branch; one sister, Miranda "Sissy" Wilson of Rocky Branch; maternal grandparents: Rev. Woodson & Deborah McGuffee of Rocky Branch; paternal grandmother, Linda Wilson of Rayville; Uncle James & Aunt Lynn McGuffee of Memphis, TN and Uncle William & Aunt Carol Strahan of Rayville; four cousins: Jace McGuffee and Gage McGuffee of Memphis, TN, Ethan Strahan, Cindy Morris & Braxton Morris all of Rayville; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be William Strahan, Ethan Strahan, Braxton Morris, Jeff Hairston, Chad Wilson and Kris Finkbeiner.
Honorary pallbearers will be the entire D.W.C.S. Track Team and Cross Country Team.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30pm until time of the service at Rocky Brach Baptist Church.
Rayven's favorite verse was Philipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."
