Randal Lee Walker of Bernice, Louisiana was born August 16, 1952. While surrounded by his family, Randy went to meet his Savior and Lord on December 12, 2022, after a battle with cancer.
Randy was born in Bernice, LA to L.B. and Lola Faye Walker. He married his wife, Marsha Hendrix on April 20, 1973. They have 2 children, whom he loved dearly. He was a lifetime logger, working the family business with his grandpa, dad, brother and son. After selling his logging company, he went into the oil and gas industry with his son-in-law, Bob Smith, until his retirement in 2019.
Randy's greatest love was his family. He had decades of stories that included the Walker men, uncles, cousins, kids and grandkids to prove it. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he enjoyed all the time he got to spend with each of them. Randy spent many hours with a lap full of kids' reading books. He also loved riding horses with Marsha and their friends in the Arkansas Ozarks.
Randy loved the Lord and studying His Word! His love for reading and studying the Bible has been passed down to his kids and grandchildren. He was a faithful member and deacon of Weldon Baptist Church.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, L.B. Walker. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marsha Hendrix Walker of Bernice, LA; son–Jason Walker and wife Stephanie of Bernice, LA; daughter–Jamie Smith and husband Bob of Bedias, TX; grandchildren: Johnny Perez and wife Stacey of Haines City, FL; Allen Smith of Montgomery, TX; Kyle Smith and wife Jasmine of Magnolia, TX; Logan Walker and wife Emily of West Monroe, LA; Sofia Walker of Ruston, LA; Reagan Walker of Bernice, LA; Kierstyn Smith of Bedias, TX; and Gracie Walker of Bernice, LA; along with 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Lola Faye Walker of Bernice, LA and brother, Monty Walker and wife Cynthia of Bernice, LA as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express our gratitude to our doctors, nurses and the staff at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX for the wonderful care during our time there.
