A graveside service for Mr. Presley E. Parks, age 88 of Rocky Branch, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Rocky Branch Cemetery with Bro. Eugene Brown officiating.
Mr. Presley was a graduate of Linville High School and attended North East Louisiana University. He was a school bus driver for Ouachita Parish, a sales associate with Jim Walters Home, and later he served as a Construction Superintendent and worked for Breck Construction. Mr. Presley also taught at the Carpenters Local for Journeymen Carpenters. He served in the National Guards in the late 50's and 60's. Mr. Prelsey was a faithful member of the Rocky Branch Assembly of God, along with his wife, Linda, who preceded him in death a little over a year ago. He was a devoted member of the Gideons, an organization dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus Christ through the distribution of Bibles. Through his work with the Gideons, he not only fulfilled his spiritual calling but also enriched the lives of countless individuals who found hope and solace within the pages of the Bibles he provided.
In addition to his devotion to spreading the Gospel, Mr. Prelsey served as a member of the Rocky Branch Cemetery Committee. His contributions to the committee were invaluable, as he dedicated himself to the upkeep of the cemetery grounds and ensuring that the final resting place of community members was maintained with dignity and respect. His efforts in both endeavors exemplified his deep-rooted values of service, compassion, and faith, having a lasting legacy that enriched not only the spiritual lives of many but also the physical and emotional landscapes of his loved community.
Mr. Presley was preceded in death by his wife: Linda Viola Parks; parents: Percy and Belva Howard Parks; and his son: Scott Parks.
He is survived by his son: Paul Parks (Shontea); ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and his brother: Ralph Parks (Peggy).
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Parks, Jacob Parks, Jonathon Parks, Jared Parks, Kaine Parks, Kayden Parks, Gilron Parks, and Brian Parks.
