Obituary

Opal "Faye" Christian peacefully left this life on March 5, 2024. She is now resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, following a brief period of physical and mental decline brought on by dementia.

Opal was born on July 5, 1933 in England, Arkansas to Charley Joe and Nina Mae "Curley" Douglas. Growing up on a farm in Magee, AR, left an impression on Opal. At 18 years old, Opal left the farm and dropped her first name in favor of her middle name, Faye. After leaving the farm, Faye didn't look back. The biggest move in Faye's life came in 1970, when she moved out west to Las Vegas, NV, where she resided until 2007. She then moved to Farmerville, LA. Faye traveled the world seeing many wonderous places other people only dream of visiting. She will always be known for her youthful personality and appearance.

Opal "Faye" was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 17 years, Doran Dar Christian; twin brother, Otha Ray Douglas; sisters, Stella Irene Dismuke and Pauline Douglas; brothers, Arlis Lenard, Leon, Leroy, Charles, Kenneth, Bobby Gene, and Paul Douglas; and her granddaughter, Chelsea Vincent. She is survived by her children, Angela (Brent) Latas of El Dorado, AR; Ramona Campbell of Lake Charles, LA; Stephanie Hood of Doha, Oatar; Stacy (Bradley) Jones of Farmerville, LA; brother, Donald Douglas of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being made by Farrar Funeral Home. No viewing or services will be held in respect of Fayes wishes.

The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff members of Arbor Lake and Passages Hospice for the care Opal "Faye" received while in residence.
