Norwood "Nob" Wall, 86, of Downsville, La passed away on October 14th, 2024, after a long life filled with love from friends and family.

Nob was born on August 10th, 1938, to Huey and Clara Wall in Lake Village, Arkansas.  He was one of six siblings.

Nob Wall was a true patriot.  At age 16 he attempted to enlist with the U.S Navy.  When he was denied for his age, he "adjusted" his birthdate to make himself appear older and enlisted with the U.S. Airforce.  After being discharged from the service, he began his career in welding where he worked for many years diligently and taking pride in his accomplishments.  After his retirement from welding, he continued to serve his community as Union Parish Constable for 13 years until he was no longer physically able.

Nob enjoyed spending time outdoors deer hunting and catfishing with friends and family.  His favorite hobby was buying, collecting, and selling "junk", traveling to auctions "wheeling and dealing".  He humorously labeled himself as a "junk entrepreneur "and spent many days sitting in his shop admiring his "treasures".

Nob Wall loved people and never met a stranger.  Not only was he a beloved member of the community, but he was known far and wide to many.  To him, family was not defined by blood but by the connections that he had made.  He enjoyed visiting with friends and anyone willing to chat at the local store in Downsville.  He enjoyed hosting gatherings and cooking for his loved ones, and everyone enjoyed his company.  All were welcome at his house.  Nob was a charitable man with the biggest heart of gold.  He didn't have much of value, but he was willing to give anything and do anything for the people that he cared for.  His cheerful nature, good humor, and generosity made him easy to love.  He had many special friends that were near and dear to his heart, as he was to them.

Nob's greatest treasure was his family.  He loved his children and his wife, Shirley, dearly and always let them know.  He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.  He called his family often and always left with "I love you".  Nob's passion was his grandchildren.  When it came to his grandchildren, Nob was the true meaning of love.  He was proud, supportive, and vocal about his love for them.  His grandchildren were his world, and he was the world to them.  He was a role model, an inspiration, and a hero.  He put the GRAND in Grandpa and his love for his family is undying.

Nob's passing has left a void in the hearts of many that can only be healed by time and memories.  His mortal body has left this earth, but his spirit lives on in the people that he knew and loved.

Nob was preceded in death by his parents: Huey and Clara Kyle Wall; granddaughter: Trista Tyler; two brothers: Don Wall and Eugene Wall; and sisters: Polly McCallum and Arlon "Soot" Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Shirley Blackwell Wall; brother: Milton Wall; daughter: Tammy Richardson (Vance); sons: James Tyler (Karen), and Randy Wall (Sue); step son: Clint Jemerson (Marcy); grandchildren: B.J. Alvis (C.J. Soignier), Gage Alvis (Madison), Travis Tyler (Carrie), Angelia Tyler-Dunbar (Jason), Matthew Wall (Christa), and Kristen Sabala (Jason); step grandchildren: Van Richardson (Britney), Lauren Townsend (Mark), Ashlea Nalley (Cole), Harmony Jemerson, and Journey Jemerson; and 14  great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
