Funeral services for Nellie Tousineau Russell, 82, of Bernice will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Bernice with Bro. Michael McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernice City Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Russell went to her heavenly home on October 19, 2019. Mrs. Russell worked at the Bernice Garment Factory, then moved to Tri-Ward Hospital where she retired as a receptionist for the clinic and lab. Nellie was an exceptional seamstress and she took great joy and pride in her work. "Memaw" enjoyed cooking and was well known for her tea cakes, coconut cakes, homemade rolls and dressing. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady. Mrs. Russell loved her church and was an active member throughout her years there.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents, James Gipson & Cora Howard Tousineau; brother, Gene Tousineau; and sister, June Eubanks.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 64 years, W.C. Russell of Bernice, La.; two daughters, Janice Russell Golden (J.R.) of Hot Springs, Ar. and Janette Russell Colvin (Mike) of Bernice, La.; son, Bill Russell of Bernice, La.; sister, Yvonne Lee of Rocky Branch, La.; three grandchildren, Laura Colvin Caraway (Harper), Russell Colvin (Sarah) and Spencer Golden; three great-grandchildren, Nellie Colvin, Grayson Caraway and John Harper Caraway; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Donald Holdman, Joel Eubanks, J.R. Golden, Spencer Golden, Mike Colvin and Russell Colvin.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bernice.
