Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Evelyn Nan Tucker Roan, age 75, will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Farmerville, LA, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Nan was born March 22, 1945, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Our mama was a beautiful soul who loved her family second only to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a good and faithful woman of God who loved reading her Bible every night. Mama also loved Christmas. She was famous for the Christmas candy she made every year and for the hundreds of decorations inside and outside of her home. Nothing made her happier than sharing her joy of the season with anyone who came by. Her favorite decorations were her angels and snow babies; there wasn't a corner of her home that didn't have angels in it. She took pleasure in the small things in life and enjoyed those things to the fullest. Mama was a simple woman with a heart full of love for everyone around her. The void left by her passing will never be filled until we all see her again at the gates of Heaven.

Nan is survived by her long-time companion and love of 18 years, Jerry Taylor of Longview, TX; daughters Tonya Johnson and Kam Matthews; twin sister, Ann Stuckey (W.L.); son-in-law, Jimmy Johnson; honorary son, Jamie Taylor (Jennifer); grandchildren Jimmy Roan (Kym); Courtney Jinks (Colby); Erica Blassingame (Tyler); Michael Johnson (Nakita); Ryan Johnson and Judson Taylor; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel Allen and Susie Mae Tucker; brother Clyde Tucker; and sisters, Melba Sue Tucker, Pat Dumas and Dawn Brummett.

Pall bearers will be Jimmy Roan, Michael Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Tyler Blassingame, Tracy Farrar, Scotty Tucker, Karl Brummett, and Garrett Brummett.

Visitation will be held at Farrar's Funeral Home Tuesday, September 22, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery fund at 6166 Highway 15 North, Farmerville, La.  71241.
