Funeral services for Merle D. Hicks, 88, of Farmerville, La., will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating.  Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Hicks went to her heavenly home on June 4, 2021.  Mrs. Merle enjoyed being a housewife and taking care of her family.  She was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Zane "Jam-Up" Hicks; parents, John & Bertie K. Slater; son-in-law, Larry Garrand; and siblings, Hilda Slater, Evelyn Farrar, Marjorie Henderson, Kathryn Ely, Elizabeth Clary and George Slater.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dianne Hicks Garrand; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hicks, Greg Hicks, Leonard Hicks, John Slater, Steve Farrar and Billy Anderson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. ~ 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La.
