Funeral services for Melvin D. "Porky" Wilson, Jr., 79, of Farmerville will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Curtis Wilson and Bro. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Wilson went to his heavenly home on February 5, 2020. Fondly known as "Porky", his Christ-like manner was evident and taught to his children that "they should never pass a blind man on the street"; if you see someone in need, don't pass them by. He will be remembered by his joy and simple contentment of being around his grandchildren, his family and other friends and neighbors. His and Mrs. Dot's life revolved around sharing moments with his family through the years. Mr. Wilson served in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the Iron Workers Union for over 50 years and was a member of Farmerville First Assembly.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin D. Wilson, Sr. & Velma Mae Wilson; one son, David Wilson; and one brother, Danny Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Nolan Wilson; daughter, Sherry Morgan; sons, Jerry Wilson and Curtis Wilson (Tabitha); sister, Linda Morris; four grandchildren, Gavin Wilson, Kylie Morgan, Rayna Wilson and Jacob Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Curry Nolan, Harry Nolan, Cade Nolan, Gavin Wilson, Jerry Wilson and Curtis Wilson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. ~ 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
