Funeral services for Mary Metcalf Simpson, of Farmerville, will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Sistrunk and Chaplain Ellen Abercrombie officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Simpson, 77, went to her heavenly home August 20, 2017. Mary was a retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Simpson; father, Ruben Metcalf; mother and step-father, Alma & Marvin Akin; one sister, Maxine Williamson; and one brother, Artie Metcalf.

Left to cherish her memory is one son, Dr. Don Simpson of Sarasota, Fl.; one daughter, Leslie Simpson & Dale Dumas of Farmerville, La.; one sister, Bennie Walker of Ajax, La.; one daughter-in-law, Melissa Simpson of Benton, Ar.; four grandchildren, Zachary Chiles of Longview, Tx., Jessica Arnold of Farmerville, La., Zane Simpson and Bethany Simpson, both of Benton, Ar.; one great-grandson, Isaac Arnold; three companions, Phyllis "Grubbs" Mangam, Dawn Hinton and Linda Rivers; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm until time of service, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Evergreen Baptist Church.
