Funeral services for Madison Leroy Nutt, 97, of Bernice will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice with Bro. Michael McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Nutt went to his heavenly home on October 3, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He graduated from Spearsville High School in 1937, and served WWII as a Tech Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force as a crew chief on the plane "Hustling Hazel. He served in China, Burma, and India with the 11th Bomber Squadron.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Robert & Eliza Bieard Nutt; brothers: J. D. & Merrill Nutt and an infant baby brother; sisters: Chloe Nutt Tubbs, Lois Nutt, Dorris Nutt Harrison and Margie Nutt Harris; and a grandson, Jeremy Marks.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Mary Kathryn Brown Nutt of Bernice; 3 sons: Robert Eugene Nutt & wife, Pat of Quitman, LA, Daniel Leroy Nutt of Bernice, and David Merril Nutt & wife, Callie of Bernice; 3 daughters: Cathy Ann Nutt Hughes, Janie Lou Nutt and Julie Lynn Nutt all of Bernice; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers and his great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday at the Pine Grove Baptist Church from noon until time of service.
