Funeral services for Lynette Rhodes Barron, 88, of Spearsville will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Spearsville with Bro. James Miller and Bro. Adam Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in Spearsville City Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Lynette Rhodes Barron passed from this life and entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2020. She was born August 23, 1931 in Spearsville, La. A life-long educator, Lynette graduated with a Master's degree Plus 30 from Louisiana Tech University and spent her teaching career educating students in special education.
Preceding her in joining their Heavenly Father are her parents, Reason W. & Etta Rhodes; her beloved husband of over 70 years, Clyde T. Barron; brothers, Joe Rhodes, Edward "Sonny" Rhodes and Virgil Rhodes; and sisters, Mabel Welch, Blanche Rockett, Agnes Holloway, Sue Bennett and Bobbie Bennett.
She is survived by her four children, son, Anderson Lee Barron of Ft. Pierce, Fl., son, Clyde Scott Barron & wife, Remona of Spearsville, La., daughter, Cathy Bradley & husband, Richard of Plano, Tx., and son, Joe Barron & wife, Amie of Spearsville, La.; one sister-in-law, Mary Gene Rhodes of Spearsville, La. Affectionately known as "Omba", she is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Matt Holley, Tiffany Johnson, Logan Forbess, Jennifer Adkins, Seth Barron, Connor Lumpkin, Reese Barron, Luke Barron, Jordan Barron and Jake Barron; nine great-grandchildren; cherished nieces, nephews and a host of beloved friends.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Spearsville.
