Funeral services for Loydell Dean, 77, of Farmerville will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 19, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Crossroads cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Dean went to his heavenly home on November 15, 2018. Mr. Dean was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He retired from the Union Parish Police Jury Road Department after 25 years of service. Loydell was a master gardener. His peas and especially his sweet potatoes will be dearly missed within the community. Fishing was a favorite pastime of his. He loved his family dearly and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra "S" & Rilla Mae Kilcrease Dean; two brothers, Radford Dean and Kirby Dean; one sister, Elsie Mae Steed; and son, Anthony Dean.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Patsy Burch Dean; three daughters, Sandra Vick of Naples, Fl., Angie Williams (Stuart) of Farmerville, La. and Terri Dean of Farmerville, La.; one sister, Francis Chapman (Charles) of Farmerville, La.; six grandchildren, Nikki Trush, Eric Vick, Ashtyn Lewis, Kamryn Williams, Dustin Lewis and Dean Williams; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Keith Lee, John Stansbury, Petey Lewis, Ronnie Dean, Scott Williams and Todd Futch.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care given by the staff of Union General Hospital, Glenwood Regional Medical Center, Jordan Hospice, especially nurse, Michelle Jackson.
