Leta Smith, 69 of Farmerville, LA, passed away on September 7, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA, with Bro. Ray McNames officiating. Interment will follow at Bernice City Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Christine Scott; father, William Hurrell; sister Pat Furchak; and her brother, Vincent San Martino.

She is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Smith; sister, Rosalie Lewis; brother in law, Richard Furchak; three daughters, Larissa Cole of Farmerville, Megan Breed of Choudrant, and Gwendolyn Dooley of Ruston; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Leta was born in Anadarko, OK on December 15, 1955. Her father was a SFC in the US Army which lead to having a childhood full of travel and experiencing many different places. As an adult, Leta worked as a secretary at Panola School Board in Carthage, TX, until she met her husband Bill. They then moved to Farmerville, LA, where she worked at Mary Kay Realty, Production Credit, and the Council on Aging. Leta was a care taker by nature whether be the senior citizens, her mother until her passing, or her family.

Leta was known for her kind heart and love for God. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She poured her heart into these roles proudly. Her hobbies included beach walks to find "stringers" with her husband to craft crosses from sea shells and attending estate sales. She will be missed terribly by all that knew her; knowing her was a true blessing.
