Funeral services for Mr. Lee Royce Alford, age 83 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Farmerville with Brother Kurt Auger officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Lee Royce was a graduate of Farmerville High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University for a brief time. He married Bonnie Nolan Alford and built a home and farm on Denton Road. Bonnie died right before their 60th wedding anniversary. Lee Royce loved raising cows and he had several chicken houses.

Lee Royce was a member of First Baptist Church and loved handing out bulletins and peppermints at the front of the church for as long as he was able. He also enjoyed coaching baseball when both his sons played. He loved riding horses with his daughter. Lee Royce was one of the people that was instrumental in building the D'Arbonne Range Riders Arena.

Lee Royce taught welding at the Vo-Tech school in Farmerville. He loved teaching and finding jobs for his students. He always said that this was the job that he thoroughly enjoyed. Even a few days prior to his death, some of his former students dropped by and visited with him.

Lee Royce was blessed to be married to his second wife, Syble Silmon Alford. She made the perfect addition to the family. They would have celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary in May.

Lee Royce was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Nolan Alford; parents, Ray and Elma Alford; brothers, Richard Boyce Alford, Connie Ray Alford, and infant brother, Billy Wayne Alford; and infant sister, Margie Loyce Alford.

He is survived by his wife, Syble Silmon Alford; daughter, Terri A. Booth (Scotty); sons, Tim Alford (Fran), Tracy Alford, and step son, Stacey Silmon; step daughter, Angie Idom (Bud); grandchildren, Amber Alford, Ben Booth (Morgan), Colt Alford, Zach Alford, and Secret Alford; great grandchildren, Lena Booth, Grayor Roberts, Diesel Alford, and Draven Booth; sister-in-law, Patsy R. Alford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Allen, Jody Cook, Heath Gean, Gary Kennedy, Sonny Moon, and Jay Yelton.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Douglas "Ha Ha", Wendell Hodge, Ethan Williams, John Yelton, and the coffee drinking club.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church.
