Funeral services for Kathy Kelley Smith, age 73 of Bernice, Louisiana and Gurdon, Arkansas, will be held
at 2:00PM Friday, September 16, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Bernice, Louisiana under the direction of
Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Michael McIntosh officiating.

Growing up in a military family as a child, Kathy lived in Columbus, Ohio; Rabat, Morocco; Omaha,
Nebraska; Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana; but Bernice, Louisiana was always home to her. She was a 1967 graduate of Bernice High School.

Kathy worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Linda Wright, Dr. Jerry and Dr. Lamar Johnson and Dr. Kurt
Touchstone for many years. She was a member of a twelve step program and had achieved thirty-three
(33) years sobriety. She counseled and supported many people over the years. She was very proud of all
of her grandchildren and loved them with all her heart. She was a bright spirit who was loved by all.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents: Major and Puddin McGee Kelley.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Wayne Smith; daughter, Sterling Grafton Jackson; and son, Kelley
Wayne Grafton. Stepdaughters: Rachel Wyatt, Jerusha McDonald, Carrie Smith, and Heather Neal. Three
brothers: Pete Kelley (Anne), Kim Kelley, and Kasey Kelley (Pam), grandchildren: Katey Grafton, Grace
Jackson, Shelbie Grafton, Drake Jackson, and Ashby Grafton, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:30PM until time of service, Friday, September 16, 2022.
