Funeral services for Katherine Elizabeth Marchant, age 82 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home with Danny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Katherine attended school in Virginia. She met her husband and married and they began traveling all across America pipelining until settling in Louisiana. Once settled in Farmerville and after raising her children, Katherine worked at Union Parish Middle School for 23 years as the "Candy Lady". She was a loving mother, gentle soul, and always had a sweet nature. Katherine will be dearly missed.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years: Lloyd K. Marchant; parents: Garland Ellis and Carrie Mae Mize Hall; and her brother: Jimmy Ellis Hall.

She is survived by her son: Mike Marchant (Marlene); daughter: Sandra Thurston (Jay); grandchildren: Launa Liggin, Chelsea McPherson (Chase), Joey Marchant, and Alissa Bagwell (Dusty); great grandchildren: Kamryn Liggin, Carson Liggin, Tucker McPherson, Rhett McPherson, Wyatt Marchant, Macklynn Bagwell, and Blaine Bagwell; numerous friends, and nieces, nephews, family members and friends from Virginia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Marchant, Dusty Bagwell, Chase McPherson, Carson Liggin, Hank Thurston, and Bill Thurston. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Katherines great grandsons.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Elara Hospice Care, special caregivers, Morgan Booth, Sabrina Harrison, Chasity Pennington, Tiffany Caldwell, and Jamie Smith, for the love and care they showed to Katherine.
