A funeral service for Joyce Marie Sharp Canterberry, 77, of Marion, La., will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Conway Baptist Church in Conway, La. with Bro. William Englerth and Bro. Dewayne Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Conway Baptist Church Cemetery in Conway, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Conway Baptist Church in Conway, La.

Mama worked hard all of her life. She would get us up for school and get breakfast and lunches ready for us and our daddy. She would then get herself ready for work after cleaning the house and doing laundry. After work, she would cook supper and clean house again and work on laundry. She was the sweetest, kindest, soft-spoken, loving, most caring mother anyone could ever ask for. Mama worked in garment factories before working in the Union Parish School System as a teacher's aide. She then retired in insurance three times before staying at home full-time with our daddy, which was sick and needing constant care until his passing. She loved her family very, very much, and would do anything for us.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Barnie Lynn Canterberry, Sr.; parents, J.T. and Claudia Arve Tugwell Sharp; sisters, Sandra Holloway and Lona Gaye Albritton; brothers, Billy Joe Traylor, Dr. Harlon D. Traylor, and Robert Claude Sharp; great-granddaughter, Karlie Kate Canterberry; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Barnie Lynn Canterberry, Jr. and Andrew Jay Canterberry; grandchildren, Devin Canterberry, Austin Canterberry, Destiny Shea Canterberry Phillips (Michael Joshua), Garrett Canterberry, Allie Canterberry, and Heather Nicole Gates; great-grandchildren, Colten James Phillips, Dameon Murph Garrett, Lilly Garrett, and Sterling Bennett; sisters, Bonnie Harvey and Delores Vines (Ralph); and brother, Vernon Jay Sharp (Theresa).

Pallbearers will be Austin Canterberry, Josh Sharp, Tyler Smith, Christian Oiler, Parker Smith, and Matt Sharp. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jake Sharp.
