A funeral service for Josie R. Marchant, 89, of Farmerville, La., will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at D'Arbonne Church of Christ in Farmerville, La. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ruston, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La.

Josie R. Marchant, born February 20, 1933, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Josie was a faithful member of D'Arbonne Church of Christ of Farmerville, La. and loved her church family. She enjoyed going to church when she was able to and she enjoyed spending time with all of the people there. Josie loved working crossword puzzles, watching golf and mystery shows and doing carpentry work. Her dad taught her the guy things and her mom taught her the girl things. You could also find Josie outside growing her rose bushes and mowing her yard. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Josie was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Josie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Marchant; and son, David Marchant.

Josie is survived by her daughter, Julie Parker and husband Neil of Downsville, LA; sons, Richard "Rick" Marchant of Albuquerque, NM and James Marchant of Downsville, LA; and best friend, Claudia Warlick and husband John of Farmerville, LA.
