Obituary

A funeral service for Mrs. Johnette Copeland Tucker Davis, 90, of Bernice, La., was held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Pisgah Baptist Church in Bernice, La. with Bro. Michael McIntosh and Judge Jay McCallum officiating. Interment followed in Pisgah Cemetery in Bernice, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Visitation was held 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Pisgah Baptist Church in Bernice, La., prior to the funeral service.

Johnette Copeland Tucker Davis, 90, of Bernice, La., fondly known as "Sissy", was born August 20, 1931 and passed away April 3, 2022. Johnette worked as a Dental Assistant and Technician for Dr. Wick Lawrence for 35 years. She was a faithful member of Pisgah Baptist Church for many years where she served as the Song Director and the Sunday School Youth Director. Johnette loved each and every one of her nieces and nephews under any and all circumstances. Johnette was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Johnette was preceded in death by her husbands, Shelby Tucker and Tommy Davis; parents, Jesse James and Ruth Booles Copeland; nine brothers, DeWayne Copeland, Elwyn Copeland, Punk Copeland, Glover Copeland, Rev. M.F. Copeland, Reese Copeland, Bobby Copeland, Dan Copeland, and Dale Copeland; and three sisters, Alline Puckett, Ramona Post, and Edna Alexander; and one grandchild, Justin Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Paul Tucker (Laura); five step-daughters, Tracy Beaird, Mellissa Nugier (John), Linda Crochet (Gerald), Lana Crump (Hamp), and Lola Michelle (Robby); two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Copeland (Beverly); and one sister, Suzanne Carroll.

Pallbearers were Jerry Alexander, Mark Copeland, Robin Carroll, Ted Cox, Fred Cox, Timmy Copeland, Larry Post, and Tracy Copeland.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Shardae Lewis, Rita Taylor, Margaret Archie, Lisa Ford, and Nicole Levingston for being such special caregivers for Mrs. Johnette.

Memorials may be made to Pisgah Cemetery Association, Pisgah Baptist Church, or First Baptist Church of Bernice.
