Funeral services for John A. Thompson, 73, of Spearsville will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery, near Spearsville, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Thompson passed away on June 29, 2020.  Mr. Thompson liked to garden, ride four-wheelers and fish.  He enjoyed picking, playing and cutting up.  Mr. Thompson loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, John & Elsie Thompson; siblings, Herman Thompson, Newman Thompson, James (Preacher) Thompson, Melvin Thompson, Margaret Gibson and Meme Boyington; children, Jeffery Thompson, Roy Thompson, Troy Thompson and Zelma Marie Thompson; and great-granddaughter, Aubree Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Judy Thompson; children, John Thompson, Jr. (Delores), James Thompson (Konnie), Jimmy Anthony Thompson (Patsy), Jason Thompson (Rosanna), Elsie Cottrell (Jim), Lisa Phillips and Michael Bain; five siblings; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Javen Cottrell, Jim Cottrell, Jeffery Thompson, Johnny Smith, Byron Pace, John Rhodes and John Durfee, Jr.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.
