Funeral services for John Wayne Redden, 77, of Farmerville will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Sardis Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Sardis cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Redden passed away on February 20, 2019. John Wayne was a lifelong resident of Union Parish. He was very proud of his service to our country in the Vietnam War and was a true patriot. John Wayne was a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved life and was known for his sharp wit and humor.

Mr. Redden was preceded in death by his parents, Evan & Evon Stansbury Redden; sister, Thelma Jean Redden; and special nephew, Don Redden.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Simpson Redden of Farmerville, La.; one son, John Ashley Redden (Sandy) of Prairieville, La.; one daughter, Janna Redden Antley (Chris) of Farmerville, La.; two brothers, Stanley Redden (Terry) and Levy Redden all of Farmerville, La.; two step-daughters, Kristy Ardoin (Craig) and Vanessa Adams (Terry) all of Farmerville, La.; five grandchildren, Jordan Antley, Jacob Antley, Jax Antley, Sarah Redden and Hannah Redden; three step-grandchildren, Dawson Adams, Dillon Adams and Brooklyn Adams; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Antley, Jacob Antley, Dawson Adams, Dillon Adams, Heath Redden and Josh Dupree.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hollis, Jerry Matthews and Carl Nolan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
