John William Bridges, Jr., age 44 of Downsville, LA, passed Thursday, January 1, 2026. A private family burial was held Friday, January 2, 2026 at Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

John was a graduate of Farmerville High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Iraq. After the Army, John worked as an independent oil well tester. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer and go fishing. He loved his family and cherished all his nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cindy Bridges.

He is survived by his brother, Luke Bridges (Jennifer); his sister, April Bridges; grandmother, Glynda Pardue; nieces and nephews, J.P. Coleman, Lily Coleman, Gabriel Hardee, Jack Bridges, and Darcie "Emma" Bridges; and his dog, Rico.
