Joe Robert "Jody" Johnson

A funeral service for Mr. Joe Johnson, 87, of Marion, La., will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021, 2:00 PM at Conway Baptist Church in Marion, La. Bro. Andy Allred and Bro. Will Englerth will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Conway Cemetery in Marion, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, La.

Mr. Joe Johnson passed away on August 26, 2021. Mr. Joe loved his wife and children dearly, and they meant the world to him. Some of the things he enjoyed doing consisted of deer hunting, gardening, and working in his yard. He was an active person who loved to work. One of his proud achievements was being named the '1996 Louisiana Older Worker of the Year' by the Union Council on Aging. He spent over 30 years working for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. Mr. Joe was also a proud member of Conway Baptist Church. He will be missed by many.

Mr. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eunice Johnson; sisters, Evon Whitehead and Myrtle Dodd; brothers, Jack Johnson, Henry "Red" Johnson and Carlos "Dick" Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda Brasher Johnson; his two children, Joey Johnson of Monroe, La. and David Johnson of Monroe, La.; sisters, Margie Parker of Coos Bay, Oregon and Patricia Brasher King of Farmerville, Louisiana, along with other numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La.
