Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Sharon Herring, age 69 of Bernice, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice with Bro. Jason Cole and Bro. Daniel Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Jo graduated from Southland Academy and attended Norh La Vo Tech in Farmerville. She started her career with Commercial Union Insurance in Ruston, LA as a Claims Adjuster and worked for the next 40 years through several company name changes before retiring. Jo loved to fish, shop, and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent time traveling with her family on many vacations and get-aways.  Jo was a wonderful listener and a great friend to many people. She was always ready to lend a listening ear when needed and always knew what to say. Jo could also set you straight real quick. She was a great cook, and loved helping Mike in the garden.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Nettie Lee King Reeves; and her brother: Curtis Reeves.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Mike Herring; three daughters: Lisa Freeman (Roger Zachary), Kristina Davis (Billy), and Joann Popwell (Lance); two sisters: Lois Wade (Michael) and Ramona Smith (Lewis); brother: Tony Reeves (Connie); grandchildren: Trey Johnston (Stephanie), Alex Keshner (Rusty), Christopher Keshner (Felisa), Collin Davis, Tori Davis, Veronica Davis (Clayton), and Connor Davis; great grandchildren: Lakyn, River, Fisher, Blakely, and one soon to be; and many other family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Herring, Bradley Herring, Jacob Abercrombie, Matthew Abercrombie, Christopher Keshner, Connor Davis, Collin Davis, and Clayton Key.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice.
