Jerry Oneal Langston

Jerry O’Neal Langston, 85 of Huttig, AR passed away July 13, 2026 at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1941 in Litroe, Louisiana to the late Lasco “Whit” Langston and Ruth Telles Langston.

After graduating from Marion High School, he went to work for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Chicago, Illinois. Jerry enlisted in the United State Army September 30, 1963, after completing his training he was stationed in Ankara, Turkey. Upon completing his military service he returned to the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.

In 1968 Jerry returned to the area where he was born and raised and worked for Georgia Pacific and then Olin Kraft before starting his own forestry business. He owned and operated Langston Tree Planting from 1985 until his retirement.

Jerry instilled the love of travel, reading, westerns and the outdoors in his girls and grandson. He enjoyed being able to take them on long family vacations to explore different areas of the country. Jerry was a great proponent of always learning something new and figuring out a way to solve a problem.

Those left to cherish his memory include by his wife of 58 years Marlene Gilmore Langston, of the home. Two daughters Windy (Derrick) Elrod of Jonesboro, AR and Marianna Langston of Marion, LA and one grandson Ivan Langston of Huttig, AR. Two brothers Roger (Cathy) Langston of Litroe, LA and Jimmy (Lucille) Langston of Huttig, AR and one sister Kathleen (Johnny) Nelson of Huttig, AR. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Hilda Greer. His maternal grandparents Leo Vinson and Leola Mamie Price Telles Sr and his paternal grandparents Ira Eugene and Ida Elizabeth Sehon Langston.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Litroe Baptist Church in Marion, LA. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Litroe Baptist Church followed by Interment at Old Lapile Cemetery in Huttig, AR under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
