Ms. Janet was a native of Richland Parish where she grew up on the Bayou LaForche. She married Norman Klein and they became owners of a rural grocery store in Bachelor, Louisiana, located on the Old River area. There they supplied baits, wares, gas, and rented boats to their customers for many years

Ms. Janet was preceded in death by her husband Norman Klein; her parents Oscar C. and Lucy Briley Wilks; three brothers, Freddy O. Wilkes, Day Lavonne Wilkers and Benny C. Wilkes; and her sister-in-law Louise Porch.

She is survived by her brother Don B. Wilkes (Ethal) and her sister Judy Doffet.
