On April 29th, 2016, Mr. Saunders, known to many as J.T., left this life for his heavenly home. Preceding him in death are his parents, James Eils and Lois Hollis Saunders, his sister, Francis Cummings, and brother-in-law, Simon Nugent.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at Spearsville Baptist Church with Rev. James Miller and Rev. Chuck Johnson officiating.

J.T. leaves to cherish his memory, Patsy, his beloved wife of 61 years, a daughter, Cheryl Rene' Futrell and husband Trae, a son, James W. (Bill) Saunders and Janet. Also, leaving to cherish his memory are three grandchildren, Derrick Thomas, Darby Lawless and husband Kevin, Dannon Thomas and Taylor, three great-grandchildren, Carmen Lawless, Tyler Reves, and Jorden Seal, three sisters, Sue Nugent, Peggy Albritton and husband Harold, Ruth Helen DeVoll and husband Eddie, brother-in-law, Joe Cummings, one brother, John Colvin Saunders and wife Sue, and one special young man, Jimmy Crompton.

Mr. Saunders served in the Air Force branch of the military. He was a cattle farmer, school bus driver and oil field worker. This year is his 50th year devoted to the masonic lodge. J.T. was an avid turkey and deer hunter. He loved football, basketball, and baseball. J.T. was a member of Spearsville Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Derrick Thomas, Dannon Thomas, Tyler Reves, Jorden Seale, Steve Lane and Jimmy Crompton. Honorary pallbearers are several close friends and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Monday, May 2nd at Spearsville Baptist Church.
