Funeral services for James D. "Jim" Oliver, Sr. will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, October 29, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Farmerville with Bro. Kurt Auger and Bro. Glyn Nale officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Jim went to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business and a member of the Farmerville Fire Department for 27 years.

Jim is preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Lorena Oliver; his parents, Egbert Oliver and Effie Schaffer; and daughter, Andree' Oliver Harrell.

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nell Barron Oliver; son, James D. Oliver, Jr. and wife Mandy; son Justin Oliver; sister Sandra Nale and husband Glyn; grandchildren Katelynn Oliver, Kane Oliver, Kaleb Oliver, Brittany Harrell, and Natalie Harrell.

Pallbearers will be John Johnson, Jr., Ken Green, Nicholas Green, Joseph Odom, Todd Conley, Jimmy Rosson, Daniel Whiddon, Nick Bearden, and Jon Bearden. Honorary pallbearers will be Kane Oliver, Kaleb Oliver, Keith Kenley, Franklin Beaird, and Billy Grafton.

Visitation will be at the church Sunday from 1:00pm until time of service.
