Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. James Ray Jackson, age 69 of Marion, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Dean Baptist Church with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Interment will follow at Dean Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

James passed away unexpectantly on July 28, 2025. He was the first-born child of Pearl Ray and Fay Manning Jackson, born on January 3, 1956 in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. James has now joined both of his parents in Heaven with many other family and loved ones. He resided in West Monroe, LA after retiring after 30 plus years with Borden Dairy Company. James also resided in Marion (Dean Community), LA, leaving behind a life of simplicity, solitude, and a deep connection to the woods and nature. He loved hunting, fishing, watching all outside creatures, and daily walks with his dog Lucky. He also loved spending time with family and friends. James was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.

James was survived by his brother, Philip Randal Jackson; sister, Donna Jackson Chamblee (Stanley); nieces, nephews, and other family; aunts, Shirley Hale Gage (Raymond) and Dianne Schulz; and uncle Donald Manning.

James will be missed and remembered for his sweet nature and kind hearted spirit.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Dean Baptist Church.
